Juliana Duque Mahecha, Phd
Juliana offers the food consultancy related services at DTM Global Consultancy. She has extensive experience in culinary diplomacy, writing, research, teaching, and podcasting, with collaborations including Netflix, Condé Nast, Four Seasons, Eater, and KCET.
She is also co-creator and former Chair of the BA Food Studies and Gastronomy Program at Javeriana University (Colombia), and former senior editor of Cocina Semana Magazine.
In 2017 she published the book Sabor de Casa -Taste of Home- (Intermedio Editores, 2017), which tells the stories and visions of fourteen Colombian chefs who have led the revitalization of South American cuisine in the last thirty years. She has extensive experience as a researcher and writer of journalistic and academic articles focused on the cultural politics of food and eating.
In 2022 she worked as a freelance editor for Epicurious – Conde Nast, to review and retag 5,000 recipes of the magazine’s online collection. She curated content for the Netflix Series Street Food Latin America and has collaborated as lead content creator of major food, culture, and travel platforms.
Juliana has a Ph.D. in Sociocultural Anthropology from Cornell University is fluent in English and Spanish and has an intermediate level of French.
She has served as a moderator, panellist, broadcaster, for academic and mainstream food events for more than a decade and is currently co-writing a cookbook about a ‘Farm to Table’ project in California, United States.
